Already in 1436 the Lichtensteiners took over the castle including all lords. It was not until 1609 that the castle became a moated castle. In 1721 the baroque renovation was completed. At the beginning of 2000, the complete renovation of the building began, which was completed in 2001. Since then there has been an exhibition on the history of the Princely Lichtenstein family and the development of the entire Lower Austria and Weinviertel region. There is also a Local museum with many interesting and historical exhibits.
