Madagascar

According to allcitycodes, the climate of Madagascar is tropical along the coast and temperate in the highlands. The weather is affected by two main season cycles, the hot-dry season and the cool-wet season. The hot-dry season occurs between April and October when temperatures can reach up to 35°C (95°F). The cool-wet season lasts from November to March when temperatures drop to around 20°C (68°F). During this time, heavy rains are common, particularly in the east of Madagascar. The central plateau region of Madagascar experiences cooler temperatures with less rain than other parts of the country. On the eastern coast, cyclones occur every year between December and April and can cause extensive damage to crops and infrastructure. In some areas, these storms can be severe enough to cause flooding and landslides. Madagascar also experiences a short dry spell in July which is referred to as ‘the little dry’, during which there may be no rain for several weeks.
